Front light
Lights faces from the front. This is what lets the audience see expressions and the camera film correctly.

Placed behind the performers, it separates silhouettes from the background and gives depth to the image. The secret of good photographs.

Sharp, shaped beams to isolate a lectern, a logo or an object, or to project precise patterns.
Sides and effects
Sculpt volumes from the side and bring dynamics during musical sequences and highlights.
Lighting for the eye and for the camera
Most professional events are filmed and photographed. But the human eye adapts to contrast ranges the camera cannot handle: a speaker lit only from behind appears as a black silhouette on screen, and a heavily coloured stage becomes unreadable on video.
So we work with a sufficient front light level and a controlled colour temperature, keeping coloured effects for unfilmed sequences or wide shots. When a capture is planned, we align the lighting plan with the videographer before the event.
Speeches, awards and official addresses
Institutional events have their own requirements: the speaker must not be dazzled while reading, the lectern must stay legible, award winners must be evenly lit across the full stage width, and the backdrop or logo must remain visible without dominating.
We therefore plan profile spots shaped onto the speaking areas, discreet lectern lighting and an even wide wash for group photographs — the moment everyone will want to publish the next day.

Frequently asked questions
Is truss needed to rig the fixtures?
For proper front light, yes, or at least lifting stands. Placing fixtures on the floor casts unflattering shadows on faces.
How long does building a lit stage take?
Allow half a day for a standard rig, a full day with substantial structure, overhead rigging and programming.
Can you work with our videographer?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. A technical meeting between lighting and video beforehand prevents most image problems.
