The light that flatters, the light that betrays

At a prestige evening, lighting must enhance the guests: warm sources, soft angles, no harsh frontal fixture and no saturated colour on the tables. Badly considered lighting hardens faces and ruins the photographs everyone will publish.

So we keep pronounced effects for the stage sequences and the dance floor, and hold the dinner to worked but discreet lighting, at a level where guests can see each other and photographers can work.

Coordination with the master of ceremonies

The rhythm of a gala depends on synchronisation between the master of ceremonies, the sound position, the lighting position and video. So we establish a shared technical run sheet with the cues for every sequence, and we stay in direct contact throughout the evening.

A technical rehearsal in the late afternoon, however short, is enough to remove most of the hesitation — it is the best investment of the day.

Typical gala package

  • Room sound and stage microphones
  • Uplighting and table lighting
  • Profile spots on the lectern and award area
  • Followspot for the winners
  • Synchronised effects on the highlights
  • Sound and lighting operators in contact with the stage

Frequently asked questions

Can you light a photocall?

Yes, with soft, even lighting that avoids cast shadows and produces images usable by the press and on social media.

Do you handle video playback during the evening?

Yes, with LED screens or video projection, video control and synchronisation with sound and light.

Is a rehearsal needed before the evening?

We recommend it systematically, even thirty minutes. It prevents timing gaps and reassures the participants.
